2026 Honda CBR500R
Start Your Sport Bike Story
The 2026 Honda CBR500R brings the look and feel of a true sport bike together with the approachable performance that makes it easy to enjoy every mile. Its full fairing, aggressive styling, responsive handling, and 471cc parallel-twin engine make it a great choice for riders looking to step into sport riding—or for experienced riders who want a lightweight, practical motorcycle that's simply fun to ride.
And for 2026, Honda made the CBR500R even more accessible with a lower MSRP, while keeping the performance and features riders have come to expect.
A 500cc Twin That's Ready for the Road
The CBR500R is powered by a 471cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin with DOHC and four valves per cylinder. Honda's PGM-FI fuel injection helps deliver smooth, predictable power across the rev range, making the CBR500R just as comfortable cruising around town as it is enjoying a winding stretch of North Carolina pavement.
The six-speed manual transmission gives you plenty of control, while Honda's assist/slipper clutch reduces clutch-lever effort and helps manage rear-wheel hop during aggressive downshifts.
This is the kind of motorcycle that makes you want to take the long way home.
Sport Bike Looks Without the Attitude
There's no mistaking the CBR500R for anything other than a sport bike.
The full fairing gives it the aggressive CBR appearance while helping manage airflow around the motorcycle. The dual-level two-piece seat provides a comfortable riding position for everyday street riding, commuting, or heading out for a weekend ride through the back roads.
And let's be honest—sometimes you just want to park the bike somewhere, turn around, and look at it.
The CBR500R checks that box.
Nimble Handling for North Carolina Roads
The CBR500R uses a 41mm Showa SFF-BP inverted fork with 4.7 inches of travel and a Pro-Link Showa rear shock with 4.7 inches of travel. The rear shock features nine-stage preload adjustment, giving you the ability to tune the suspension for your riding needs.
With a 31.1-inch seat height, 55.5-inch wheelbase, and 421-pound curb weight, the CBR500R has a manageable feel without sacrificing the planted character you want from a sport bike.
That's a great combination for enjoying the roads around Sanford and Central North Carolina. From a quick evening ride to a Saturday morning run through the Sandhills, this is a motorcycle that encourages you to get out and put some miles on it.
Braking Confidence
Honda equips the CBR500R with standard ABS, including dual 296mm front discs with four-piston calipers and a 240mm rear disc.
It's a useful feature whether you're dealing with changing weather, unexpected traffic, or simply enjoying the ride.
Get Outside. Get Some Miles on It. Make Some Memories.
Not every motorcycle needs to be the biggest, fastest, or most complicated bike in the lineup.
Sometimes you just need something that makes you want to ride.
Take the CBR500R out for a morning ride through the back roads around Central NC. Head toward the Sandhills. Find a road you've never ridden before. Meet up with friends and put some miles on it.
That's what riding is all about.
