North Carolina Motorcycle Safety Education Program (NCMSEP)
The North Carolina Motorcycle Safety Education Program (NCMSEP), offered through the North Carolina Community College System, provides hands-on rider training for all experience levels. Courses are taught using the nationally recognized Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) curriculum.
Available Rider Courses

BRC – Basic RiderCourse
Designed for new riders or those returning after time away. Learn motorcycle control, balance, braking, cornering, and traffic strategies. Motorcycles are provided for training. Successful completion earns a skills waiver card for the NC DMV riding test.

3WBRC – 3-Wheel Basic RiderCourse
Teaches the fundamentals of operating a 3-wheel motorcycle (not sidecars). Perfect for riders interested in trikes.

BRC2 – Basic RiderCourse 2
For riders with experience who want to refine their skills. Students must have a motorcycle endorsement, current insurance, and their own street-legal motorcycle.
