450 Reasons to Ride Red!
2026 Honda CRF450RWE
Factory-Inspired Performance. Works Edition Detail. Ready for the Track.
The 2026 Honda CRF450RWE takes Honda's already serious CRF450R motocross platform and adds a collection of premium Works Edition upgrades designed for riders who want a more specialized, race-focused machine. The RWE features a hand-ported cylinder head, Yoshimura exhaust, Hinson clutch components, Twin Air filter, upgraded Showa suspension, DID DirtStar LT-X rims, RK gold chain, special ECU settings, black triple clamps, and exclusive HRC-inspired graphics.
This is a closed-course motocross motorcycle, built for riders who want to spend their weekends chasing better lines, faster laps and more confidence when the track gets rough.
450cc Unicam Power
The CRF450RWE starts with Honda's 450cc liquid-cooled Unicam SOHC four-stroke single-cylinder engine.
The engine uses a 96.0mm bore, 62.1mm stroke, 13.5:1 compression ratio and 44mm PGM-FI throttle body. Power is delivered through a close-ratio five-speed manual transmission and #520 chain final drive.

The Works Edition then adds special ECU settings and a hand-ported cylinder head to the package.
Yoshimura Exhaust
One of the most noticeable RWE upgrades is the Yoshimura exhaust system.
Honda equips the CRF450RWE with a stainless-steel header and a titanium mid-pipe and muffler developed specifically for Honda by Yoshimura. Honda also designed the system to tuck closely into the motorcycle for improved ergonomics.
It's a premium component that fits right in with the Works Edition's race-focused approach.
️ Hand-Ported Cylinder Head
Honda gives the RWE a hand-ported red cylinder head as part of its Works Edition package.
The CRF450R's Unicam cylinder-head design keeps the engine compact while helping Honda achieve a narrow valve angle and efficient combustion-chamber design.
The result is an engine package developed specifically around the demands of motocross.
Hinson Clutch Components
The Works Edition also receives a Hinson clutch basket and clutch cover.
The motorcycle uses a hydraulically actuated clutch, and Honda notes that the hydraulic system provides approximately 10 percent less clutch-lever pull than a comparable cable-operated system while eliminating routine cable adjustment.
That's a welcome feature when you're spending a full day on the track.
Works Edition Showa Suspension
The suspension is another major part of what separates the RWE from the standard CRF450R.
Up front is a 49mm Showa inverted coil-spring fork with titanium-oxide-coated lower fork legs and 12.2 inches of travel. The RWE receives upgraded and revalved suspension as part of the Works Edition package.
Out back is a Pro-Link Showa single shock with 12.2 inches of rear-wheel travel according to Honda's U.S. specifications.
Honda also specifically describes the RWE's rear shock as specially optimized for the frame.
Suspension Features
49mm Showa fork
Titanium-oxide-coated fork legs
Works Edition suspension tuning
Pro-Link Showa rear shock
12.2-inch front travel
12.2-inch rear travel
Adjustable suspension
Whether you're dealing with braking bumps, deep ruts, jumps or a rough outdoor track, suspension setup is a huge part of getting the most from a 450.
⚫ DID DirtStar LT-X Wheels
The CRF450RWE receives DID DirtStar LT-X rims as part of the Works Edition equipment package. Honda specifies black DID DirtStar rims, combining a lightweight design with the durability needed for motocross use.
The RWE runs:
80/100-21 Dunlop MX33 front
120/80-19 Dunlop MX33 rear
These are serious motocross tires designed around the demands of the track.
RK Gold Chain
It's the little details that help make a Works Edition stand out.
Honda equips the 2026 CRF450RWE with an RK gold chain and 13T/49T final-drive gearing.
It's another component that contributes to the RWE's premium race-bike appearance while serving a very practical purpose.
️ Honda Selectable Torque Control
The CRF450RWE includes Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) with three customizable settings.
A handlebar-mounted control lets the rider adjust traction control to suit the track and riding conditions.
That can be especially useful as track conditions change throughout the day.
The track might start hard and tacky in the morning, become rough and rutted by midday, and develop completely different traction after weather moves through.
Having selectable settings gives the rider another tool for adapting the motorcycle.
⚡ Three Engine Modes
The RWE also features three engine-mode settings:
Standard
Smooth
Aggressive
A handlebar-mounted control allows the rider to change power delivery to suit track conditions or personal preference.
That's especially useful on a 450, where controlling how the power comes on can be just as important as having the power itself.
️ Race-Developed Chassis
The CRF450RWE uses Honda's responsive aluminum chassis with narrow main spars and geometry developed with input from Honda HRC racers. Honda has also revised the triple clamps, frame, fork and steering stem to optimize chassis rigidity and responsiveness.
The result is a motorcycle designed to feel responsive when you're:
Braking hard
Entering corners
Changing lines
Attacking ruts
Jumping
Accelerating out of corners
Pushing through rough sections
That's what a 450 motocross bike is supposed to do.
Strong Braking Performance
The RWE uses:
260mm front disc
Twin-piston front caliper
240mm rear disc
Single-piston rear caliper
When you're carrying serious speed into a motocross corner, predictable braking feel is critical.
The CRF450RWE gives the rider the hardware needed to get the bike slowed down and positioned for the next section.
HRC-Inspired Throttle Jockey Graphics
The 2026 CRF450RWE receives an exclusive Throttle Jockey graphics package inspired by Honda's HRC works bikes.
Honda also uses durable in-mold graphics, helping the graphics withstand the abuse that comes with repeated track use and washing.
Add the black DID rims, black triple clamps and RK gold chain, and the RWE looks like something that belongs behind the starting gate.
Twin Air Race Air Filter
The Works Edition comes with a Twin Air air filter.
That's an important upgrade for a motocross motorcycle because the air filter is one of the first lines of defense against the dust and dirt kicked up during a day at the track.
And just like we tell our customers with every dirt bike:
Keep the air filter clean.
It's one of the most important maintenance jobs you can do on a high-performance four-stroke.
Ready for North Carolina Motocross
The CRF450RWE is designed for closed-course motocross, not public roads or general trail riding.
For riders around Sanford and Central North Carolina, load it up and head to your favorite MX track. Places like Black Ankle Raceway give local riders an opportunity to put a serious motocross machine through its paces.
This is the bike for:
Practice days
Motocross racing
Outdoor MX tracks
Track days
Race training
Riders looking for a premium 450 platform
If your weekends revolve around the track, the RWE gives you a very different starting point than a standard trail or dual-sport motorcycle.
